Google stores information about your activities on Google Plus. To use the Google Plus button, you must create a public profile with a profile name on Google. Google Plus and all Google services will use your profile name. Your identity behind the profile can be disclosed to all users who know your email address or have other information with which they can identify you. Google uses the information you provide. Google also creates statistics on Google Plus activities. These may be published and shared with third parties. If you wish to prevent such data transfer, you must log out of your Google Plus or Google account before visiting our website.
8. Social Networks
We use social media plugins from Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram on our website based on Article 6, Paragraph 1, Sentence 1, lit. f GDPR to promote our business. The associated advertising purpose is considered a legitimate interest under the GDPR. The responsibility for GDPR-compliant operation lies with the respective provider. We integrate these plugins using the so-called two-click method to protect visitors to our website.
On our website, we use social media plugins from Facebook to personalize its use. We use the “Like” or “Share” button for this purpose. This is an offer from Facebook. When you visit a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook’s servers. The content of the plugin is sent by Facebook directly to your browser and embedded in the website. By embedding the plugin, Facebook receives the information that your browser has visited the relevant page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not logged in. This information, including your IP address, is transmitted directly to a server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can directly associate the visit to our website with your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, such as clicking the “Like” or “Share” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information is also published on Facebook and shown to your Facebook friends. Facebook may use this information for advertising, market research, and tailoring Facebook pages. For this purpose, Facebook creates usage profiles, interest profiles, and relationship profiles to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the ads shown to you on Facebook, inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website, and provide additional services related to Facebook usage. If you do not want Facebook to associate the data collected on our website with your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. For more information on data collection, processing, and usage by Facebook, as well as your rights and privacy settings, please see Facebook’s privacy policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy).
On our website, we also use social plugins from the Twitter Inc. microblogging network. The Twitter plugins (Tweet button) can be recognized by the Twitter logo on our page. An overview of Twitter buttons can be found here (https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons).
When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, a direct connection is made between your browser and the Twitter server. This gives Twitter the information that you have visited our page with your IP address. If you click the Twitter “Tweet” button while logged into your Twitter account, you can link the content of our pages to your Twitter profile. This allows Twitter to associate your visit to our site with your user account. We point out that we, as the provider of the pages, have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data and its use by Twitter. If you do not want Twitter to associate your visit to our site, please log out of your Twitter account. Further information can be found in Twitter’s privacy policy (https://twitter.com/privacy).
On our website, we also use social plugins from Instagram, operated by Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025 USA.
The plugins are marked with the Instagram logo, such as the “Instagram camera.” When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Instagram’s servers. The content of the plugin is sent directly by Instagram to your browser and embedded into the page. Through this embedding, Instagram receives the information that your browser has visited the relevant page of our website, even if you do not have an Instagram profile or are not logged into Instagram. This information, including your IP address, is transmitted directly to an Instagram server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged into Instagram, Instagram can directly associate the visit to our website with your Instagram account. If you interact with the plugins, such as clicking the Instagram button, this information is also transmitted directly to an Instagram server and stored there. The information is also published on your Instagram account and shown to your contacts. If you do not want Instagram to associate the data collected on our website with your Instagram account, you must log out of Instagram before visiting our website. For more information, see Instagram’s privacy policy (https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388).
